Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find your availability?

Our real time calendar can be accessed by CLICKING HERE. Each of our supported booking platforms (Airbnb, HomeAway, HipCamp, etc) also have current calendars. 

How do I book a stay?

We offer guests various booking options. You can book online through a preferred vendor of your choice including: HipCamp, GlampingHub, AirBNB, HomeAway, TripAdvisor and  Booking.com. You can also book directly with us (sans booking fees) by emailing us at info@rustysroostnc.com or by phone/text 803.242.6833 (direct booking payments are accepted via venmo or paypal).

Is there a minimum stay?

Yes. We book a two night minimum stay. However exceptions during the week or off season can be made, reach out to us. 

What is the check in process?

Check in is flexible but standard hours are  Check-in is 3 p.m. and checkout is 11 a.m. 

Let us know if you need different times. 


Rental Cabin: You will be sent the door code before check-in. 


Glamping Sites: Pull up to your assigned tent (tents are numbered 1-6 from entrance and have marked named signs). Cars park on the parking pad- please do not park on the grass. *If you have an overflow of cars, please park them down past the tents.  DO NOT BLOCK THE ROAD. 

Are pets allowed?

We welcome dogs at the River Camp, but ask that they remain on leash when exploring the property and please clean up after your pets (potty bags provided at each site).  


We do discourage pets at our rental cabin with the exception of service animals. 

Is there a restroom at the River Camp?

YES! At the start of the property (near site #1) there is a bathhouse  with men's and women's restrooms equipped with running, heated water, indoor plumbing, sinks and showers for guests to use. The bathhouse does have electricity and entrance is lit at night.  

What do I need to bring to Glamp?

We provide guests with premium bed  linens, pillows, basic furnishings, solar & battery lighting as well as wood burning stoves (firewood can be purchased on site). Remember it is still camping. Bring any necessities you normally would for your camping adventure.  


The site has bonfire stations as well as two cooking stations with running water for your cooking needs in addition to the in-unit stoves. 

Are the glamping sites heated and cooled?

Each tent is equipped with wood burning stoves for heat and cooking. Personal fans  are permitted.

What can I buy on site at the River Camp?

Ice and firewood is available for purchase from our property manager who resides on the property. During check in you will be given their contact for anything you may need during your stay at the cabin or the tents. 

Where is the closest grocery store?

Ingels grocery is located just down the mountain about 15 minutes from either rental site as well as convenience stores, shopping, restaurants and more. 

Are you handicap accessible?

Our River Camp is comprised of elevated tent sites & bathhouse  with no wheelchair access. 

The Rental cabin's main floor can be accessed via wheelchair but the bathroom is not handicap outfitted. 

What is provided at the Cabin?

Rusty's Roost Cabin is equipped with all your basic needs. We offer bed linens, towels, pillows, laundry access and supplies, fully stocked kitchen, Smart TVs with streaming access, Alexa, a game cabinet and more!
